Common questions
What is included in drywall taping, mudding and finishing?
The written scope can include board review, joint tape, compound coats, fasteners, inside and outside corners, sanding, protection, inspection and agreed touch-ups. Board correction, skim coating, priming and painting are identified separately when needed.
What is the difference between a Level 4 and Level 5 drywall finish?
Level 5 builds on a specified Level 4 base with a thin full-surface skim or approved surfacer. It can improve surface uniformity, but neither level promises that all variation disappears under critical light. Substrate, lighting and decoration must be reviewed.
Can skim coating be used on an existing wall or ceiling?
It can be considered when the existing substrate, coating and preparation are compatible with the requested outcome. Loose plaster, uncertain textured coatings, contamination or damaged board may need a different owner or preparatory scope first.
